A plated jewel is different from a solid gold jewel.
Plating is usually referred to a jewel with two elements.
The first one is the Silver 925, the main structure of the jewel, the second one is the plating, as in the jewel’s coating, usually with a 14 carats gold foil.
When a jewel is plated in gold it has a different durability compared to a solid gold jewel.
The durability of the plating depends on who wears the jewel, because it’s usually sensitive to the skin’s Ph. It’s usually not recommended to wet it frequently, to use fragrances or creams. This is because these products diminish the color’s durability.
